This section of NativeWeb is dedicated to information about law and legal issues related to indigenous peoples of the world. NativeWeb is an international, nonprofit, educational organization dedicated to using the Internet to disseminate information from and about indigenous nations, peoples, and organizations around the world.

The Indigenous Bar Association (IBA) is a non-profit professional organization for Indian, Inuit and Métis persons trained in the field of law. Its membership consists of Indigenous lawyers (practicing and non-practicing), judges, law professors, legal consultants and law students. As the field of Indigenous law develops, the public is becoming more aware and interested in Indigenous legal issues. The IBA plays an active role in promoting the development of Indigenous law and supporting Indigenous legal practitioners.

Independent Living Canada is the national umbrella organization, representing and coordinating the network of Independent Living (IL) Centres at the national level. Independent Living Canada is a national, bilingual, non-profit organization, and is governed by a Board of Directors which is comprised of a majority of people with disabilities. Its responsibilities mainly consist of providing support, training, networking with government and non-government organizations, and information dissemination.

The Independent Legal Advice for Survivors of Sexual Violence Project (ILA) provides free legal advice to survivors of sexual violence. A team of lawyers trained by ILA staff provides this advice, and each survivor is entitled to up to four hours of legal advice, as well as attendance at legal clinics (as scheduled). ILA is open to adults (18+) of any gender who live in Alberta and experienced sexual violence in Alberta. This is a project of Elizabeth Fry Northern Alberta. Services are available in Stony Plain, Morinville, St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Fort Saskatchewan, Ponoka, Camrose, Wetaskiwin, Red Deer, and Fort McMurray.
