The Edmonton Immigrant Services Association is a registered non-profit organization incorporated in 1976. EISA exists in order to provide programs and direct services relating to Integration, Settlement, Adaptation and Education for new immigrants, refugees and first generation Canadians in Edmonton and surrounding areas regardless of age, gender, religion, nationality or ethnic origin to assist them make a smooth transition into Canadian life. They have a language bank and provide translation services.

The principles behind this program include recognized drug treatment court concepts, the concept of problem-solving courts, and restorative justice.

Commencing in 2019 the Edmonton Community Legal Clinic will expand their service area to offer family law legal advice to low income residents of northern Alberta who do not live close enough to Edmonton to recieve in-person advice. The advice will be offered through the use of technology such as telephone, Skype, Facetime, and other forms of audio / video technology. The Rural Family Law Prjoject of the Edmonton Community Legal Centre offers free legal information, advice and representation for low income Albertans residing in Northern areas of the province that do not have access to a local community legal clinic. The Rural Family Law Project has volunteer lawyers that can offer you up to 45 minutes of free legal advice. If you are low income and meet our financial eligibility guidelines, ECLC will do their best to assist you with your family law issue.
Our organization and most of our volunteers are located in Edmonton, so appointments will, in most cases, be over the phone with an Edmonton lawyer.
